Eurovision Song Contest preview: Albania
Mar 25 2014 11:29 am CET

Starting today, TVLatest will offer you reviews of all the songs for the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest that will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, between May 6th and May 10th of 2014.

We start - in alphabetical order - with Albania which is represented by the song "One night's anger", performed by the young singer Hersi. You will see this song on May 6th during the first semi-final.

The song is originally called "Zemërimi i një nate" and won the Albanian Festivali i Këngës during which it was performed in Albanian. As is often the case, the song seems a lot more powerful in the original language, but for Eurovision it will be sang in English.

It's a shame that during the festival, singers can't perform with the entire orchestra behind them, like this song was originally played, because the presentation indeed gave it a lot more strength on stage. But the 20-year-old Hersi still brings across the message of the song, which is never to allow anger taking decisions.

One night's anger is currently in the bottom half of the list for bookmakers, so unless her stage performance is surprisingly good Hersi will finish her Song Contest participation as angry and devastated as she is in her video. Let's hope that at least nobody will blow smoke in her face on her way out of the concert hall.
