Eurovision Song Contest 2014: San Marino Sending Valentina Again
Jun 19 2013 12:48 pm CET

Denmark has not yet selected its venue or host city for next year's Eurovision Song Contest, but San Marino has already selected its representative: Valentina Monetta.

Although a handful of countries have more-or-less confirmed their participation in next year's event, this is the earliest a country has ever selected its representative.

This will be the third time in a row Monetta has represented San Marino. In 2012, Valentina caused controversy with the Facebook online anthem "The Social Network Song (Oh Oh Uh Oh Oh)." She returned to the Contest this year with the disco ballad "Crisalide (Vola)." She missed qualifying for the Final, finishing in 11th place in the second semi-final (I'm still sad about that).

2014 will be San Marino's fifth visit to the ESC. The country has yet to qualify for the Final. The Eurovision Song Contest will be held somewhere in Denmark, after the country won the Contest last month with the song "Only Teardrops" by Emmelie de Forest.
