Ukraine has once again assured itself a place in the Eurovision Song Contest final with "Gravity" by Zlata Ognevich. Will Malmo be the site of the country's second ESC win?

Country: Ukraine
Title: "Gravity"
Artist: Zlata Ognevich
Semi-Final: First, Position 7
Last year's entry/position: "Be My Guest" - Gaitana (15th Place)

Surprise! Ukraine has hit it out of the park again with "Gravity" by Zlata Ognevich. This rousing ballad taps into the part of the brain which causes you to sing along and feel fully invested in the track, even when you aren't aware it is happening. Try to get through the whole song without adding in your own "my gravity!"

Ukraine has never missed a Final, and that trend will definitely continue this year. The big question is whether or not this song can win the entire Eurovision Song Contest. Ukraine has slowly been moving up the ranks with the bookkeepers, sitting behind Denmark and Norway as of this writing. However, if you look at who else sits atop the leader board, it is mostly western European countries. In other words, there could be a fair amount of vote splitting that waters down points for other countries, allowing Ukraine to gain more 8s, 10s and 12s.

What also excites me about "Gravity" are the possibilities for the stage performance. Ukraine has never been afraid to try new things and this song has so much potential to create something mind-blowing. Ukraine finished 4th in 2011, and a good deal of that had to do with the mesmerizing sand art background accompanying the song "Angel." Last year's entry was an experiment with LED backdrops which were a misfire, but at least Ukraine took the chance. It is probably too much to expect the audience to be lifted from the floor, but if Ukraine hasn't considered that option I will be disappointed.

I won't be disappointed with Ukraine's final placement – unless they somehow miss the Top 5.
