Tuesday TV: Emily Owens MD, Presidential Debate, The Men Who Built America
Oct 16 2012 08:18 am CET

Tonight's television is truly historic. The Men Who Built America will be featured on History, Obama and Romney will participate in a town hall debate, and Emily Owens MD premieres (maybe not as historic as the other two). Here's what's on TV Tuesday.

First off, the CW has a new drama debuting tonight. Emily Owens MD follows the day-to-day life of a first-year intern at Denver Memorial Hospital. Will this show finally be the one to figure out if a working woman can have it all? Just kidding. The show starts at 9pm.

The big event tonight is the second debate between presidential candidates President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney. CNN's Candy Crowley will serve as moderator in the town-hall style event hosted by Hofstra University. All the major networks and cable news networks will have live coverage beginning at 9pm Eastern.

Finally, History has a new documentary mini-series debuting tonight called The Men Who Built America. Tonight's installment will look at the development of the national rail system courtesy of Cornelius Vanderbilt and the begin of John D. Rockefeller's oil empire. The installment premieres at 9pm.
