The networks are bringing the drama tonight with another wave of series premieres. The CW introduces the superhero Arrow, ABC goes behind the scenes in Nashville, and Dick Wolf gets back into the civil service with Chicago Fire. Here's what's on TV Wednesday.

The CW continues the death archery theme that has been weaving its way through pop culture the past year with the new series Arrow. Stephen Amell plays billionaire Oliver Queen, who adopts the persona Arrow after a near-death experience. That's all I know because I keep getting distracted by the abs. There will be abs. See the abs at 8pm.

Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere return to network TV in the new series Nashville. Britton plays a country music legend who is entering the sunset years while Panettiere is the hot new thing climbing the charts. The show is one of the few to receive positive buzz this season – find out if you agree at 10pm on ABC.

Finally, Chicago Fire is the newest offering from Dick Wolf. This show tracks the lives of the staff of a Chicago firehouse and their families. Wolf's track record with shows outside of the Law & Order family: will this show be a success? You can check it out at 10pm on NBC.
