Survivor Philippines Season 25 Episode 3 Recap: This Isn't A We Game

Oct 03 2012 10:45 pm ET
We return to Matsing and Angie knew that she and Malcolm were threatened. Angie trusts them, but she hoped that they knew that they were only friends. Russell was worried, especially if (and when to the viewers) Denise was aligned with the young'uns.
Tandang. Abi needed a break, but RC wanted to find the idol immediately. Abi was worried because she twisted her knee twice. RC tried to convince her that she's not a liability as the two continued to bicker. I think Abi's firecracker mentality wasn't helping the cause. RC talked to Skupin and complained immediately. Abi had a discussion with Pete about the hidden immunity idol being under their noses. He suggested the bag of rice. Pete needed a second to study his surroundings as he took in the information. Pete decided to talk to Lisa privately and told her that she was on the short end of the stick. He told her to vote Mike, she was desperate enough to take the suggestion. She's cautiously playing her cards as she goes. I guess she knows how to take the good and take the bad.
Kalabaw. Jonathan complained about his ass and Dana sat on the rice box. She reaized that there was a crest on the lid. Does that mean that she sat on the crest before? Her ass must be happy to know there's no bump to sit on. Jeff talked to some other contestants that we didn't fully meet and realized that Jonathan had the hidden immunity idol. They still think that they could blindside him without any issue. Jeff realized that he was the idiot for not looking for the idol sooner.
Matsing. Denise realized that their raft disappeared. What? How does a raft just get up and leave? Malcolm and Denise discussed their votes. They knew it was between Russell and Angie so it was Malcolm in the Middle.
It felt early, but it was time for the immunity challenge. The challenge was a dive for puzzle wheels and then a word puzzle that had the answer of "Treasure." When you looked at the spools, the word "Immunity" looked like it was a decoy. The first two tribes would be immune. The main reward was a fishing kit and a canoe; the secondary prize was a crap version of the fishing kit. Katie & Dawson, Abi & Lisa sat out the challenge.
The relay began with Dana, Artis, and Angie, but it didn't seem that there was a set order to go or a requirement to wear the swimming goggles. Saltwater isn't that awful to open your eyes in. See: Saline. Skupin went down and while he had his mask on, something in it crushed his face/ Russell slipped as it turned out that he didn't understand how to go up a ladder. Then Angie complained that she couldn't go a second time. It's not like big boobs were the issue because RC was schooling the contestants and getting three pieces without any breaks. Russell had too much of an issue even diving he turned back and forced only Denise and Malcolm to do the rest of the work. RC switched up with Skupin and then he switched back to RC for the last piece. She must be a a strong swimmer or at least understood the way to unlock the puzzle pieces easier than others. Kalabaw and Tandang were first to finish retreiving their puzzle pieces as they made sure that the letters were facing the same direction. According to editing, it seemed like all the teams figured that "Treasure" was the word and closed into the words. Kalabaw won in first place, Tandang quickly in second. Both seemed to support each other for winning as if they had a secret pact to get rid of any of the blue team anyway if there was a tribal merge.
Kalabaw arrived to see a canoe and Dana was excited to have food. Jonathan realized that Jeff was wary of him; he decided to be direct and admit to having the idol. The two shook hands and Jeff used a "four finger handshake" because he wasn't fully into the idea. Well, I guess I'll stare at his handshakes forever.
Tandang continued to celebrate, Mike injured his face. Artis finally had a real interview where he complained about Mike's questionable leadership skills. Abi and Pete decided to think about the clue. She tried to search different places around camp and then she realized that it was the rice top. Abi wrenched it off and she and Pete decided to hide their idol underground further from the camp. At least it's still under their noses.
Matsing returned in silence, Malcolm was upset that his tribe was just idiots. Malcolm and Denise had to get three puzzle pieces each. Angie tried to talk to them and admitted that she "tried." They realized that Russell and his lack of ladder climbing skills didn't help the cause at all. Russell admitted that he had his weakness and decided to talk to God and clear his head. Apparently Jesus is supporting Mike Skupin or loved The Facts of Life back in the 80s.
We return from a commercial with Russell still wandering around. Angie talked to Malcolm and tried to convince him that she could have done the challenge, but she would have been slow. Malcolm knew it was a coin toss between the two. As night started to come closer, Russell hoped to persevere and decided to fight.
The tribe arrived at tribal with Jeff already giving them evil looks. Denise knew how much she'd lose not being here. Malcolm watched the first season at 12 and realized that he was heartbroken. Malcolm admitted that there were people struggling. Angie admitted to being slow, but tried to call herself a fighter. Russell made an executive decision to quit early. Russell thought that he was more capable in every capacity. Russell called him a "little girl" and then fought his case. Angie was in tears feeling so diminuitive. Denise knew loyalty is important, but Malcolm knew that they needed strength to get further.
As the votes came down, both Russell and Angie's votes were revealed against each other. In the end Angie was voted out 3-1.
Next Week: Jeff and Penner play hard. Matsing has their last stand.
