Emmys 2012: Amazing Race wins best Competitive Reality Series, Tom Bergeron wins for Best Host

The Amazing Race continued its dominance in the Best Competitive Reality Series category. Tom Bergeron finally won an Emmy for his work on Dancing With the Stars.

CBS's The Amazing Race won for a ninth time, beating out Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, and The Voice. Since the award was introduced in 2003, the program has in all years except 2010.

"I want to thank Jeff Probst for not being nominated, that helped," Tom Bergeron said in his acceptance of the Emmy for Outstanding Host of a Competitive Reality Series. The category was introduced in 2008 and Probst won all four previous awards for his work on Survivor. Bergeron made sure to plug the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars, which begins its all-star season tomorrow.
