The top acting awards for this year's Emmys were given to Jon Cryer for his work on Two and a Half Men and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for her work on HBO's Veep.

Mindy Kaling and Melissa McCarthy presented the Best Actor award, with Kaling reading the names and McCarthy commenting on each nominee's sexiness-to-hair ratio. Jon Cryer received is second Emmy Award for his role on the CBS comedy. His previous award was as a supporting actor on the long-running series.

In a seven-women field for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, Julia Louis-Dreyfus scored a surprising win for her role on Veep. Amy Poehler was the first to hug Louis-Dreyfus, who began her speech thanking the cast and crew for Parks and Recreation. Poehler, who orchestrated last year's Beauty Queen bit, orchestrated this hilarious speech swap. In her real speech, Louis-Dreyfus said, "I don't see anything funny about me being Vice President of the United States."
