Sunday TV: Primetime Emmy Awards, Treme, The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Sep 23 2012 10:12 am ET

Tonight's the big big night in television: Emmy Awards! If you are looking for something other than an awards show, Treme returns to HBO and The Real Housewives of New Jersey end their season on Bravo. Here's what's on TV Sunday.

The main event tonight is ABC's presentation of the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Will Mad Men and Modern Family dominate the awards again this year, or could new dramas and comedies start to get attention? Will Cat Deeley win the award for Best Reality Show Host, or will the Betty White circus claim another victory? Red Carpet coverage begins at 7pm, the Awards begin at 8pm with host Jimmy Kimmel, and we will have reports on the winners throughout the evening. Have you practiced your Emmy speech yet?

If you are interested in watching programming the Emmy Foundation has ignored completely, HBO's Treme is back for its third season. The action picks up in 2007 and tensions between New Orleans musicians and the police have intensified. Find out what happens at 10pm.

Finally, the fourth season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey comes to a close on Bravo. Melissa is at the center of the drama as Stripper-gate(?) reaches new points of ridiculousness. The episode airs at 10pm, followed by Watch What Happens Live at 11pm.
