Friday TV: Stand Up to Cancer, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the Team, Cheer

TV takes a bit of a breather before the Fall premieres start rolling in next week. Tonight features the Stand Up to Cancer multicast, and CMT's cheerleader-driven slate. Here's what's on TV Friday.
The big event tonight is the third annual Stand Up to Cancer live fundraiser. Joining the star-studded event this year will be Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Justin Timberlake, Sofia Vergara, and many, many others. The four major networks as well as several cable networks will air the special from 8pm-9pm Eastern. You can donate directly through the organization's website.
If you are standing up and you want to cheer, CMT has you covered with two premieres. At 9pm, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team is back for a seventh season. Then at 11pm, the docu-series Cheer debuts. This series tracks a cheer team from New Jersey as it hits the competitive cheer circuit.
