Big Brother 14 Sunday August 12 Episode Recap: Frank's Gonna Win This Game

Aug 12 2012 09:26 pm ET

On Sunday's Big Brother 14, the first Have Not Competition pits the Lemons against the Limes, Frank and Mike's trustworthiness gets tested, and Danielle's history comes into question.

Previously on Big Brother 14: The coaches were given the option to become players and three of them could not hit the "reset" button harder. Danielle won the endurance-based Head of Household challenge. In consultation with Dan, Shane and Britney, Danielle put Frank and Wil on the nomination block. Dan was dead-set on keeping the coaches together, but Mike's distrust of Janelle (plus his need to keep BFF Frank safe) led to a backdoor plan to get rid of the popular player. Danielle's group, along with Ian, Frank and Mike, put the gears into motion after Danielle won the Power of Veto. Janelle was nominated and eventually voted out by everyone except Joe. Frank won the next HoH competition, becoming the first repeat HoH of the season.

It's Day 34 in the Big Brother house. While Mike and Fran do another obnoxious happy dance in one of the bedrooms, Britney is in the Diary Room expressing remorse about what went down. She tried to turn things around before the boat, but there was too much momentum for getting rid of Janelle. As the house gets ready for the HoH competition, Ashley apologizes to Joe for keeping him in the dark. He doesn't feel great about his standing in the house, not only because no one told him about who was getting the boot but also because he cast the sole vote against the new HoH. Eh.

Britney and Danielle debrief in the Have Not Room. Danielle tries to paint a sunnier picture by telling Britney she is one step closer to the money. Britney is not consoled by this because she knows how this game works. "Frank's gonna win this game," Britney states. "If he's in the final three, it's over." Meanwhile, Mike and Frank are setting the agenda for the week in the Arcade. Mike says this week needs moves, even though it is easy to coast. Joe is going up, but who should join him? Mike thinks they can work a number on Wil, but Frank wouldn't mind putting up Dan. Mike chuckles at the idea, but he's concerned that this might rock the boat too much. Also, they might need Dan and Danielle's votes next week.

After the HoH room tour, Wil and Ashley sulk on the patio. Both of them were more than happy to join the group in voting out their former coach, but neither player is jazzed about not having a partner in the game. I guess they don't want to work with each other, so that's on them. Joe joins the conversation and wonders why Team Janelle completely disintegrated. He whines about being left out of the loop about voting out Janelle. Wil DRs he didn't tell Joe because 1) he has a big mouth, and 2) a lone dissenting vote puts a large target on your back.

Back in the Head of Household suite, Mike, Frank and Dan discuss options. Frank expects Joe to go out next, but figuring out the second nominee is tough. Putting up Wil could be dangerous because if he wins the next HoH, it could be incredibly dangerous. They float the idea of nominating one of the Silent Six as a pawn. Maybe they could get Shane to volunteer? Or Dan? Dan says he would prefer not volunteering, but thanks them for the offer.

Mike and Britney are out on the patio in the morning and Big Brother calls Danielle to the Diary Room. They snark about Danielle's non-morning person tendencies. This leads to a discussion about whether or not Danielle is a school teacher. Mike floats a theory that Danielle is either a nurse or a medical student. She calls medicine like Advil by its pharmaceutical name and knows a little too much about medical issues. Speaking of medical issues, Ashley has been having back spasms and needs to use the stronger guys in the house like human crutches.

The spasms keep Ashley out of the first Have Not Competition of the season. Frank will take her place in a competition similar to the milking competition from a couple seasons ago. Basically, lots of humping to get liquid out of spongy bodysuits representing lemons and limes. Team Lemon features Danielle, Britney, Joe, Shane and Jenn. Team Lime has Mike, Wil, Ian, Dan and Frank. There's not much to report, except Danielle was not expecting at any point this summer having a lesbian bouncing up and down on her (her words). Joe was useless in the competition, which probably led to Team Lemon losing. The competition was structured so only four players would be Have Nots, so Jenn was spared the inconvenience.

Joe meets with Frank in the HoH room for some last chance groveling. Joe points out he is alone in this game (not a selling point), which could help out Frank down the road (there are plenty of other free agents, still not a selling point). Loyalty should be acknowledged – I guess because Joe voted to spare his coach, though still not a selling point. Joe then throws Wil under the bus. If anything, Joe has made a case for who should be nominated with rather than instead of him.

After some hijinks in the swimming pool, Wil has his last chance grovel session with Frank and Mike. Wil opens by saying it is okay if they want to put him up as a pawn. Frank follows this remark by asking who Wil wants out of the house after Joe. Wil says he thinks there's a large group working together in the house, but assures Frank and Mike he isn't gunning for them. My affiliate freaks out and shows some ads and the beginning of 60 Minutes(?) before rejoining the conversation after Wil leaves the room. Frank still wants to nominate Dan, but Mike disagrees. They do find common ground in that Dan needs to go before Final 5 or he might win.

Nominations. For some reason Frank is still wearing the Spiritard, even though his HoH win should have allowed him to wear normal clothes. Britney's key is pulled first. Danielle, Shane, Ashley, Jenn, Ian and Dan are also safe. Mike's key is pulled last, which means Joe and Wil are on the block.

Wednesday on Big Brother 14: The Power of Veto is back up for grabs. Even if Joe and Wil are taken off the block, will the replacement nominee prevent the other player from going home?
