Sunday TV: Leverage, Sunday Best, Breaking Bad, Political Animals, Strange Sex

Jul 15 2012 11:01 am ET
Tonight features some big premieres from Breaking Bad and Political Animals. BET's Sunday Best moves on to the competition phase. Leverage and Strange Sex are also back for another round of shows. Here's what's on TV Sunday.
First up, TNT's heist series Leverage returns for its fifth season. Tonight's case features a CEO whose cost-cutting measures are so severe, it causes a plane crash. I'm guessing tonight's episode is not sponsored by Ryanair. The show airs at 8pm.
BET is on the search again for America's best gospel singer, with Sunday Best beginning this year's stage performances. Tonight's back-to-back episodes feature the Top 20 competing. The show starts at 8pm.
If you want the opposite of uplifting, tonight's big event is the fifth season premiere of AMC's Breaking Bad. With only 16 episodes left, what is going to happen to Walter White, particularly in the aftermath of last season's finale? The tension begins at 10pm. At 11pm, you can catch the premiere of Small Town Security, a half-hour reality series about a private-security family business in Georgia.
The other big debut tonight is USA's Political Animals. This drama is about the people who used to carry the title "First Family." The super-sized premiere airs at 10pm.
Finally, TLC switches point-at-people-and-gawk gears with the third-season premiere of Strange Sex. Tonight's back-to-back episodes features the word "hymenoplasty", so, yeah, viewer discretion is advised. The show airs at 10pm.
