Thursday TV: Breaking Pointe, National Spelling Bee, Touch, Final Offer

May 31 2012 10:12 am ET
It is another busy night of television. The CW explores the ballet world, ESPN provides up-to-the-minute Spelling Bee coverage, Touch finishes season one, and Discovery makes a Final Offer. Here's what's on TV Thursday.
First up, the event that justified my DVR purchase several years ago (not joking): The 85th National Spelling Bee. This year's competition started with 278 spellers, including youngest-ever contestant 6-year-old Lori Anne Madison, will be whittled down to two dozen spellers for tonight's final. The semi-finals begin at 10am on ESPN2 with live coverage of the Finals beginning at 8pm on ESPN. It's a sport now, y'all!
Over on the CW you can catch the premiere of Breaking Pointe, which is about the world of competitive ballet dancing. The show airs at 8pm. Here's a sneak preview:
Also debuting tonight is the auction series Final Offer. This high stakes show features four buyers offering competing bids for valuable keepsakes. However, the seller has only one chance with each bidder to accept or reject. The show premieres at 10pm on Discovery.
Finally, Fox's drama Touch wraps up its first season with a two-hour finale starting at 8pm. The custody battle for Jake heats up, as does the Aster Corporation's interest in the kid. Also, will we finally learn the secret of the Amelia sequence?
