Survivor One World Recap: Total Dysfunction
Feb 22 2012 09:12 pm ET

Last Week: Eighteen contestants started playing Survivor in a battle of the sexes, but both found out that they were living in the same beach. Several contestants were so stressed out that no one listened to Jeff's instructions and Kourtney was sent home after breaking her wrist.

The women returned to the beach and were greeted to the men; the men claimed that they were taking care of the fire. Bartender Mike was a bit annoyed that no one was sent home along with Kourtney. As if the men need more of an advantage. Alicia and Christina decided to have a one on one; Alicia hoped that Christina looked crazy; Christina will probably try to say that Alicia was "rude." Before the short credits, Alicia emphasized that Nina was a "bag of rocks" even though she didn't actually understand what that phrase was. Maybe you shouldn't use phrases you don't know.

The girls decided to have a talk in the morning and Sabrina tried to be direct with the women. They ended up letting Sabrina run the camp. She split the categories into Water, Food, and Shelter. While all the girls tried to split up, Nina was left the odd man out. Nina, being the only old person around, complained about the stupidity of the women. Some of the girls complained that knotting would totally bother their hands.

The contestants got a tree mail, which had boxes and a letter. The girls got their box and were followed by then men with a deceptively naked looking Tarzan. The message was a "do-it yourself" reward challenge. The challenge was to unknot all the rope and reveal the metal ring underneath, the prize is tarp plus all the rope in the box. The men sat Michael. Colton started the competition and the contestants basically pulled out a rope lizard. There was a lot of frantic unknotting. The women had a decent momentum with the leadership of Christina, but the men ended up winning. Wait, what if both teams finished within seconds and there was no judge to determine the winner? Was Jeff too lazy to just show up and say hello for one day?

Dramatic shots of bats returned the contestants to the beach. The men unraveled the huge tarp. Michael talked about how "we" worked really hard. Excuse me, but Michael sat there and watched. The men spent all the time on fixing the men's tribe. Colton did nothing and the men called him a queen. The cameras went to Salani and talked to the girls. They reminded him to make more attempts. Colton tried to double check the girl's roof and Sabrina realized that Colton was wasting their time. He was kicked out by Sabrina indefinitely. Colton was convinced that he needed to be his own tribe.

Colton returned to the women's tribe and wanted to throw a meeting with the girls together. Sabrina called him a drama queen in interview. Colton was in tears because he just wanted a friend. The girls pointed out that he could blab anything, no matter what promise he could make, and rejected him.

The night at Monono and the men were singing and dancing, Tarzan looking like a complete fool. Colton realized that while everyone was crazy, he had to play the game. He decided to tell Troyzan, Leif, and Jonas about the hidden immunity idol. Jonas was convinced that Colton was playing the game a lot smarter than everyone thinks.

We arrived at the immunity challenge, Jeff actually around to moderate. The challenge was a balance beam navigating challenge, where each member has to make it to the finish platform one at a time. Tarzan sat out, though I'm not sure if Leif was a smart choice. Right at the beginning, Leif made a mistake. The women's issue was mostly boob issues. Leif was through first with Colton quickly hugging all the men. Leif tried to give directions but Colton was doing fine on his own. Christina touched another person several times putting the girls at a disadvantage. This allowed Christina to try and fail. Kat continued to jump for no reason. Monica eventually made it through and while the women figured out the strategy too late, the men easily won. The girls even pointed out how the boobs were an issue.

Salani returned and had a group meeting. Sabrina opened the forum and Kat tried to ask for forgiveness, even though she wasn't listening to the strategy. Sabrina wanted to keep control and with Kat around, she's too crazy to handle. Nina was clearly upset, calling Kat a "dumb broad." Nina talked to Monica and realized that Nina, Monica, and Christina were on the outs. Nina tried her best to emphasize to Monica that the stupid 20-somethings should be going home.

The camp sat around as Nina tried to point out that Kat was a weakness because she was "witless." She tried to tell Chelsea and while Chelsea knew that Kat was part of the alliance, she's the weakest link. She talked to Kim (or who I think Kim is; we never actually got a sit down interview from her) and Kim agreed.

The women arrived at tribal council and Jeff thought that the women started with one of the "worst" beginning. Nina was convinced that the tribe was split into a five to three split. Nina tried to explain her experience as a police officer. She tried to get Kat to say any experiences, but Kat being the youngest had no experiences. Nina explained that Kat lacked some athletic and mental abilities. Kim explained that the vote would be split between Nina and Kat. Kat became upset because she failed and it hurt. Out of nowhere, Kat threw Christina under the bus. If anything, that toss helped spread the vote against Kat and save her. The vote went down as 6-1-1 and Nina was sent packing. The one single Christina vote came from Monica. Monica probably didn't want to vote against her ally, but she should have at least given a vote to Kat.

Next Time: The rain causes the women to fall apart.
