Sunday TV: Amazing Race, Simpsons 500, Celebrity Apprentice, Life's Too Short

It's a super Sunday on TV tonight with several season and series premieres, a couple finales, and a major milestone. Here's what's on.

8pm

The Simpsons will become the third primetime scripted series to cross the 500 episode threshold tonight, joining Lassie and Gunsmoke in the record books. In tonight's episode, the family is banished from Springfield and ends up in a post-apocalyptic encampment. Oops.

The Amazing Race sets off on its 20th adventure. The 11 teams will travel to Santa Barbara, Argentina where they will have to skydive among other tasks. Michael will have the recap posted later tonight.

9pm

Celebrity Apprentice returns tonight with 18 new contestants kowtowing to Mr. Trump and getting nasty in the Boardroom. Will men's team Unanimous or women's team Forte win the first task? Find out in our recap Monday morning.

Downton Abbey ends its second season with a Christmas themed episode (blame the delayed importing for the weird timing). It's not a happy holiday though, with a murder trial, suitors with bad intentions, and Thomas being Thomas.

10pm

Pan Am wraps up its first season tonight, also celebrating New Year's. This episode focuses on the changes that happen in the crew's personal lives as 1964 gets underway. ABC has not formally cancelled the show yet, but there is a very slim chance the show will see season two.

On HBO, after the season premiere of Eastbound and Down, you can catch the series premiere of Life's Too Short. This mockumentary follows Warwick Davis, a little person and actor who's heading into a mid-life crisis. In tonight's episode, he tries to get some advice from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

Finally, E! has two returning shows tonight: Khloe & Lamar at 10pm and Ice Loves Coco at 10:30.
