Eurovision 2012 News: Ivi Adamou will sing La La Love for Cyprus

Cyprus completed its Eurovision selection process Wednesday, with the Cypriot public and jury choosing the song "La La Love" for pop star Ivi Adamou. She will sing in the first semi-final in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 22.

Cyprus was one of the first countries this year to choose its singer for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. Adamou, a popular contestant from the Greek version of The X Factor was announced as the island nation's representative in August.

The song selection was decided by a national final held Wednesday night. Three songs were up for consideration: "Call the Police," "La La Love" and "You Don't Belong Here." Though Adamou appeared on stage, the performances of the three songs were not live. After jury deliberation and televoting, "La La Love" was declared the winner.

Cyprus is the fourth country to present its entry for this year's contest. The country will compete in the second half of the first Eurovision semi-final on May 22.
