Friday TV: Invention USA premiere; Sweet Home Alabama, Boss finales

Tonight's TV is about tying up loose ends. CMT has two reality contests coming to an end, CBS has holiday specials to check off the to-do list, and the first season of Boss wraps on Starz. Here's what's on TV Friday.
First up, Sweet Home Alabama wraps up its second season on CMT at 9pm. Tribble has to choose between Tristan, the woman from the country, and Jacqueline, the woman from the city. Who will he pick? This will be followed by the season finale of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team at 10pm.
CBS has your holiday specials covered tonight with two hours of animation. Frosty the Snowman opens the evening at 8pm, followed by the environmentalism-themed Frosty Returns at 8:30pm. Yes, Virginia and Elf on the Shelf air at the 9 o'clock hour.
Over on History, a new show called Invention USA will debut with back-to-back episodes at 10pm. On this series, experts travel the country to check out the work of amateur inventors. Tonight's inventions include weapons for wild animal attacks, a cell-phone accessory, and a gizmo to help suspend you from a skyscraper in case of an emergency. I have a feeling not all the inventions will get a passing grade.
Finally, the drama Boss has its first season finale tonight. It's election day and loyalties are put to the test throughout the day. You can catch the first airing at 10pm on Starz.
