The X Factor US Top 11 Live Elimination Results Coverage
Nov 10 2011 04:58 pm CET

Join tonight at 8pm for live coverage of tonight's elimination results on The X Factor. 11 acts went to the movies on Wednesday. Nine are guaranteed a sequel next week with two having to battle it out live in the Final Showdown.

Wednesday's edition of The X Factor featured songs from movie soundtracks. Since this includes about 70% of all songs ever, the choices spread rather wide. Stacy Francis opened the show with a less-obvious choice from The Bodyguard while fellow older contestants LeRoy Bell and Josh Krajcik went with more memorable songs from U2 and Joe Cocker, respectively. Nicole Scherzinger may have played it too safe with her acts.

LA Reid and The Boys had a stellar night. Marcus Canty brought down the house with a soulful performance of "I'm Going Down" while Astro remixed "Lose Yourself" and Chris Rene rewrote "Gangsta's Paradise."

Paula Abdul and the Groups could be in trouble again this week. Lakoda Rayne took on a Keith Urban song that, while meshing nicely with the group's aesthetic, did not sound so great as far as harmonies are concerned. Last week's at-risk group Stereo Hogzz delivered an overly-elaborate performance of "Ain't No Other Man" which did not wow the panel.

Simon Cowell and the Girls had a good, though bumpy night. Melanie Amaro gave a performance of "Man in the Mirror" that LA Reid described as "not inventive." Drew Ryniewicz stayed in her zone with Coldplay's "Fix You," a choice that seemed to underwhelm the panel despite her beautiful delivery. Rachel Crow closed (and perhaps stole) the show with her rendition of the Etta James classic "I'd Rather Go Blind."

On tonight's show: Possible lip-synching in the group sing, performances from Willow Smith and Jessie J, the voting results, and the Final Showdown with another act going home. Live coverage begins tonight at 8pm Eastern!
