Wednesday TV: CMA Awards, Republican Debate, Coast Guard Alaska
Nov 09 2011 08:34 am CET

Tonight is all about elaborate productions. The CMA Awards will be handed out on ABC, the Republican candidates will trade barbs on CNBC, and we get to see what search-and-rescue is like with Coast Guard Alaska on the Weather channel. Here's what's on TV Wednesday.

The big event tonight is the 45th Annual Country Music Association Awards. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the event from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Band Perry, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift are scheduled to perform. The show starts at 8pm on ABC.

CNBC hosts this week's episode of the Republican Presidential Debates titled Your Money, Your Vote. Somehow I doubt fiscal policies will be the only subject covered, at least as far as Herman Cain is concerned. The two hour event from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan will begin at 8pm.

Over on the Weather Channel you can find the series premiere of Coast Guard Alaska. This show tracks a team that performs search and rescue missions. We get a behind-the-scenes look at their training, family life and a day at the office. The first broadcast is at 9pm.

On the recap front, Michael will have coverage of the fallout of Cochran's switcheroo on Survivor: South Pacific. I will have notes about the Top 11 performances on The X Factor.
