Wednesday TV: X Factor Judges' Houses, Work of Art, Dance Moms, Psych, TCM
Reality is large and in charge tonight. The X Factor begins to differentiate itself from American Idol with Judges' Houses, Work of Art is back for another season, and Dance Moms has a first season retrospective. Here's what's on TV Wednesday.
First up, The X Factor moves on to phase three: Judges' Houses. Each judge will meet with his or her assigned category at a house in a fabulous international location. The eight acts at each house have one last chance to wow the mentor in hopes of moving on to the Live Shows. The drama begins at 8pm on Fox.
If you are in the mood for a movie tonight, I strongly recommend The Manchurian Candidate, which airs on Turner Classic Movies at 8pm. This political thriller is about a brainwashed Korean War veteran who becomes a pawn in an assassination plot. Also, Angela Lansbury is the embodiment of evil as one of the greatest villains in film.
Over on Bravo, the second season of Work of Art: The Next Great Artist kicks off at 9pm. Mary Ellen Mark will be the first guest judge as 14 aspiring artists have to work with lowbrow/inferior pieces in the premiere challenge.
The other returning show tonight is USA's Psych. In the season six premiere, Shawn stumbles into a murder mystery as he works on a missing Star Wars collection case. The show starts at 10pm.
Finally, the first season of Lifetime's Dance Moms officially wraps up tonight with a clip show highlighting the most outrageous moments. The special is only an hour, not an all-day marathon. Catch the first airing at 10pm.
