Tuesday Ratings: New Girl makes a strong first impression; Unforgettable opens well

Fox's new sitcom New Girl was the top show Tuesday night, helping Fox win the evening in 18-49. Unforgettable, the other new entry Tuesday night, won the late hour of primetime.
Fox started the evening with the premiere of Glee, which scored 3.8 with 8.91 million viewers, which is on par with how the show was performing in the spring. New Girl debuted at 9pm with 10 million viewers and a 4.7 rating. Raising Hope scored an impressive 3.1 in the 9:30pm slot, which was what the show premiered with in the 9pm slot last season.
CBS took second place. The return of NCIS was the most-watched program of the night with 19.55 million viewers and scored a 4.2 rating. NCIS Los Angeles scored 3.6 with 16.7 million viewers. The debut of Unforgettable attracted just under 14 million viewers and scored 2.9 in the late hour.
Dancing with the Stars got off to a relatively slow start. The meet the cast special at 8pm brought in 10.7 million viewers while the results show brought in 14.54 million. Body of Proof returned solidly, scoring 2.3 with 9.65 million in the audience.
NBC, though in fourth place, had a steady evening. The Biggest Loser averaged a 2.3 rating with 6.1 million viewers. Parenthood scored 2.1 with 5.26 million viewers.
