In other news Monday: The BBC finally announced when Torchwood: Miracle Day will debut in the UK, two new detectives join the Special Victims Unit, and Jeff Probst has a new deal in the works.

BBC has confirmed with the website Den of Geek that Torchwood: Miracle Day will premiere on BBC One Thursday, July 14 at 9pm. The program, which is now a joint production between BBC and US premium network Starz, will debut in the US on Friday, July 8.

Deadline Hollywood reported Monday some casting news for Law & Order: SVU. As you may recall, Christopher Meloni has left the program and Mariska Hargitay will be taking on a reduced role next season. Joining the squad will be Kelli Giddish (formerly of Chase) and Dany Pino (formerly of Cold Case). Could this revive the last remaining Law & Order series?

Jeff Probst is the latest personality to enter a development deal for a talk show. Entertainment Weekly posted an article stating that the Survivor host will move to the talk show realm in Fall 2012. The reality show films both its fall and spring season during the summer, so Survivor should be able to last until at least Spring 2013.
