Sunday TV: Undercover Boss and ANGR Finales, USA dramas premiere

May 01 2011 10:38 am ET

Tonight we find out what will be America's Next Great Restaurant, go to school with an Undercover Boss, crack the case with Law & Order: CI, and go into hiding with In Plain Sight. Here's what's on TV Sunday.

First, a program note. Fox originally had a Seth MacFarlane animation crossover block scheduled tonight where a hurricane would hit Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad. This has been scrapped for the time being due to the devastating storms that hit the south this week. Repeats will be shown instead.

Tonight we will find out who has America's Next Great Restaurant. The show isn't that bad, though it seems more appropriate for Food Network than NBC. However, a cable network wouldn't be able to give a prize of three restaurant locations to the winner. Will the next great fast casual eatery be Soul Daddy, Spice Coast or The Brooklyn Meatball Company (nee Saucy Balls)? Find out at 8pm on NBC.

Over on CBS, you can catch the season finale of Undercover Boss. Tonight's "boss" is the chancellor of UC-Riverside. I'll be curious to see how the Queen for a Day awards at the end of the show will work, given how bureaucratic academia can be, especially for the wage-staff (speaking from experience here). The show starts at 9pm.

Finally, two USA dramas return to the schedule. At 9pm, Goren and Eames are back on the case for the tenth season premiere of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I do miss the DiNofrionics when the killer gets caught. Then at 10pm, In Plain Sight returns for a fourth season.
