Weekend Ratings: 3-way tie Friday; NASCAR wins for Fox; Grammy Awards Sing

The big event this weekend was the Grammy Awards, hitting numbers not seen since 2004. Fox did well, thanks to NASCAR, Saturday. Friday was a virtual tie between the four major networks, with victories shared between them.

On Friday, NBC, ABC, and Fox tied for the top spot, with CBS only 0.1 point behind for the evening. CBS had the most viewers. 'Kitchen Nightmares' won the early hour with a 1.5. 'CSI: NY' won the middle hour and was the most-watched show of the night. '20/20' won the late hour and scored the highest rating Friday with a 1.9.

Fox won Saturday night with its broadcast of the the NASCAR Sprint Cup Budweiser Shootout, averaging a 2.1 with just under 7 million viewers. ABC's airing of the movie Hairspray scored a 0.7 while '48 Hours Mystery' on CBS scored a 1.0. 'Saturday Night Live' with host Russell Brand scored a 3.0.

The Grammy Awards dominated Sunday night, scoring a 10.0 and averaging 26.55 million viewers. The competition on Fox held up relatively well, with 'Family Guy' managing to earn a 3.2 and just under 6 million viewers. 'Desperate Housewives' scored a 2.6 with 9.1 million viewers.
