USA Network has announced that it has acquired the syndication rights to 'Modern Family', which according to the network is the "most significant sitcom acquisition" it has ever made.
The network's executive vice president, Jane Blaney, announced the deal earlier on Tuesday.
"This is by far the most significant sitcom acquisition we have ever made. Modern Family is the hottest new sitcom that premiered during the 09-10 TV season and it’s a perfect fit for USA."
Modern Family premiered on ABC last September and soon grew to become one of the network's top shows. It is also considered a major contender for the upcoming 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.
USA, who bought the rights from Twentieth Television, said that it will start syndicating the show in 2013.
