Comedy Central to air The Onion News Network
(TVL) - Television network Comedy Central is reportedly joining forces with The Onion in the production of 'The Onion Sports Network' series.
The Onion, a satire organisation that hosts a popular parody news website, launched their 'The Onion News Network' section in 2007 and added a sports spin-off in February 2009.
Comedy Central has order a pilot and ten episodes of the show, which will focus on "teams, players, leagues, sycophantic fans, ridiculous products and over-hyped coverage".
A news version of the show is rumored to be in the making as well.
